

The Aso Symposium has been held every summer since 1977 as our public service. Researchers specializing in microbiology and immunology discuss their basic research and clinical studies in this symposium. The quality of the symposium draws attention from inside and outside of Japan.


With the first meeting held in 1999, the AIM meeting is scheduled to be held every other year. As an academic meeting on the theme of blood product related fields, authorities from inside and outside of Japan assemble, with all proceedings and presentations made in English. The purpose of this meeting is the frank exchange of leading-edge information. One notable characteristic of the meeting is the fact that no minutes of the meeting are produced.


With the first meeting held in 1953 as our public service, this seminar has been held in the summer of every other year since 1957. The Livestock Hygiene Seminar offers knowledge and technology which can facilitate the spread and improvement of livestock hygiene.



Exchanges with Western companies such as cooperative research and technical collaboration greatly support the progress of KAKETSUKEN. More and more trainees from overseas have been accepted year by year including those through JICA (The Japan International Cooperation Agency). We have taken a progressive approach to trans-national technical aid.


This event is held every year under the sponsorship of the Department of Science and the Department of Engineering of Kumamoto University with the aim of making elementary schoolchildren, junior high school students, and senior high students enjoy science. KAKETSUKEN also supports the event by taking charge of the corner for exhibition and experimental tests.


The "Higo iikujuku" was established to improve community medicine and promote the health of residents through medical education with the support of research. KAKETSUKEN carries out full-scale support of this work.

A joint seminar with Kumamoto University school of Medicine is held twice a year, in summer and winter. Various themes such as blood products and generic-recombination technology are taken up as an exchange of information.
