Research and Development

Expectations for technological innovation are ever present, whatever the field. In 1985, when the Technopolis Project started to develop in Kumamoto Prefecture, the Kikuchi Research Center was newly established in the spacious technopolis "Bioforest as a base for biotechnology research." The Center has been the core of research and development of KAKETSUKEN since its foundation, researching to comply with the demands of the time by utilizing the ever evolving biosis engineering technology, in other words, biotechnology and the superior core knowledge of immunology, microbiology, hematology, veterinary, and biochemistry.
KAKETSUKEN, always aiming to construct new technology, established techniques for generic recombination, cell fusion process, microorganism recombinant, and large-scale culture and refinement of cells ahead of all others. These technologies are now being applied not only to the production and development of generic recombination of gene recombinant albumin and preventive medicinese, but also to face the challenges in developing therapeutic medicine in the fields of immunological-disorders, hematological disorders, and rare disorders. KAKETSUKEN presents state-of-the-art technology, such as sulfo human immunoglobulin and a gene-altered hepatitis B vaccine. We have made significant contributions to the medical and veterinary field developing of new types of vaccines for humans, recombinant vector vaccines, and the application of human technology, including an HIV human monoclonal antibody (an anti-AIDS drug) whose HIV contamination prophylactic effect was verified ahead of other companies in the world. We are confident that the commercialization of the products will be realized in the near future to meet the diversified needs of medical care.
The human genome analysis has been finalized and we are entering the era of genome drug development. KAKETSUKEN will utilize the Bio technology fostered through specialized fields, to realize the our mission, gMake use of biological elements for the prevention and treatment of various disorderfsh
