History

We will make a jump to the future.
1945.12 Established in Komeya-machi in Kumamoto City with the Institute of Experimental Medicine before World War2 , KAKETSUKEN was founded to produce and supply vaccines, antiserums, and diagnostic antigens in response to a proposal by Prof. T. Otawara of the Kumamoto Medical College.
1946.03 Moved to Furukyo-machi (Kumamoto castle, Sannomaru) in Kumamoto City as a start to the expansion of facilities.
1950.10 Vaccines for animals first produced.
1953.11 Blood Center established. Blood banks operated in various parts of Kyushu, contributing to emergency medical care. (Operation stopped in 1967).
1959.06 The KAKETSUKEN Sanitary Inspecting Engineers Training School established.
(Currently, Ginkyo Gakuen College).
1962.10 The Aso Branch Laboratory established.
1966.08 Blood plasma products first produced. Facing challenges as a new department, KAKETSUKEN made full use of its expertise accumulated through the operation of blood banks.
1969.09 The Shimizu Research Center established to enhance the strength of research and development as well as production.
To create a system for expanding business, the Shimizu Research Center became KAKETSUKEN's Headquarters in 1977.
1980.02 "Venilon," a human immunoglobulin product for intravenous injection is marketed. Venilon is widely used and is still a product in high demand.
1981.08 A building for the production of blood plasma products (Building S) completed.
1985.11 The Kikuchi Research Center constructed. Commenced enterprises including research and development in the field of biotechnology.
1988.03 Commenced production of "Bimmugen," a recombinant hepatitis B vaccine. This product became Japan's first recombinant drug produced with exclusively Japanese technology.
1991.11 "Bolheal," Japan's first tissue adhesive for living tissue, is marketed.
1993.01 Completion of a building for the production of vaccines (Building G).
1993.10 "Oil Vax," an oil adjuvant vaccine for fowl, is marketed.
1996.07 The development of cultivated forests for water resources to secure the underground water supply in Kumamoto launched.
1999.03 Completion of a building for the production and preparation of vaccines (Building R).
1999.04 Absorbed the business end of KAKETSUKEN CO.,LTD.
2001.11 ISO 14001 certificate obtained.
2001.12 A building for the production of blood plasma products(Building NS)completed.
2002.07 Due to the closure of the Chiba Therapeutic Research Institute, succeeded right to produce 6 products include smallpox vaccine.
2002.12 Completion of the influenza vaccine production(Building F) building.
2003.12 Completion of the Aso lab for the production of antitoxins.
2005.04 "Oil Vax SET," an oil adjuvant vaccine for fowl, is marketed.
2005.10 Completion of the recombinant albumin (factory KR) factory.
2005.11 Completion of the filling facility (Building NR).
